Winter weather may be frightful, but a house fire is anything but delightful. According to the NYC Fire Department (FDNY), more than 33% of candle fires occurred when candles were left unattended or abandoned. This holiday season, be sure to practice candle safety. Place candles out of reach of small children and pets, extinguish candles before leaving the room, and never leaving burning candles unattended. In case of an emergency, remember: never use candles to light your home.
