NYC Hurricane Season is Here

While hurricanes don't happen often in New York City, they are most likely to occur between August and October. NOAA experts have predicted an extremely active hurricane season, with up to 23 named storms and 14 hurricanes.
New York City, with its densely populated coastlines and complex infrastructure, is among the most vulnerable cities to hurricane damage in the U.S. Do you have a plan if a hurricane hits? Start by using OEM's Hurricane Zone Finder to find out whether you live in a hurricane evacuation zone.
