Practice Your Fire Tactics

It is Fire Prevention Week and this year's theme is "Plan and Practice Your Evacuation Route." An evacuation plan should include two different exit routes and a meeting point a safe distance from your home. While practicing your evacuation, remember to: Close doors behind you to slow the spread of the fire. If your family's plan includes a fire escape, make sure the window is not painted shut and that everyone can open it. Submit a video of your evacuation plan to the "Be a Home Escape Planning Star" contest sponsored by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA).
