In a city as vast and diverse as New York, it's nice to know there are many tight-knit neighborhoods whose members form strong bonds. One such bond can come from a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Organized through NYC Community Boards, CERT members undergo 11 weeks of intensive training to assist first responders in the event of a community emergency.
Do you cherish your community and want to help out if an emergency strikes? Find out if your Community Board has a CERT. If it does, contact the Team Chief to see about joining. If your Community Board lacks a CERT, contact OEM to learn about starting a team.
