Save Water with a Spray Cap

It may be tempting to cool yourself off on hot days by opening a fire hydrant, but open hydrants can lower local water pressure, hinder the efforts of firefighters, and endanger the lives of children who may be propelled into traffic by the force of the water. Consider obtaining a spray cap from your local fire station. Install it on any fire hydrant to produce a circular spray of cool water, reducing output to a safe level while still providing relief from the heat.

Leave Pyrotechnics to the Pros

July 4th is a day of celebrating independence, but it also is a time where many people are medically treated for fireworks-related injuries.
