Save Energy this Summer

Summer arrives on June 21. And as temperatures climb during the summer months, so does power usage. It's important go green and conserve energy. Reducing your power usage may seem inconvenient, but power outages occur most often during the summer months when power usage is at its peak. Only use an air conditioner when you are home, and turn off nonessential appliances and lights in unoccupied rooms.

Avoid the Grip of the Rip

Beaches are beginning to open in NYC. Before you enjoy some fun in the sun and get ready to take a swim, keep in mind that the water can be dangerous due to rip currents -- strong narrow currents moving away from shore. Read the surf forecast before you head to the beach.
