FEMA Seeks Applicants for National Advisory Council

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is requesting individuals who are interested in serving on the National Advisory Council (NAC) to apply for appointment.  The NAC is an advisory committee established to ensure effective and ongoing coordination of federal preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation for natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters.

If you're looking to learn more about emergency preparedness and give back to your community, consider becoming a member of one of the New York City Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT). After undergoing an intensive 10-week training program, these dedicated volunteers work to educate their communities about being prepared and support the efforts of first responders to help keep their neighborhoods safe during a crisis.
